Corne Weilbach is a promising South African rugby union player specializing as a tighthead prop. Born on February 18, 2002, in South Africa, the 23-year-old stands at 1.86 meters (6 ft 1 in) tall and weighs 128 kg (282 lbs), bringing a powerful, traditional front-row presence to his teams. As of November 2025, he is contracted to the DHL Stormers in the United Rugby Championship (URC) until 2026 and represents Western Province in domestic competitions like the Currie Cup.
Weilbach grew up in the Western Cape and attended Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch, one of South Africa's premier rugby schools. During his time there, he excelled in the U19 A side, contributing to a dominant scrum alongside future professionals like Montpellier's Robbie Rodgers.
Weilbach's provincial journey began with Western Province in 2021, where he featured in developmental squads. He made his senior debut in the Currie Cup Premier Division on July 23, 2022, coming off the bench against the Blue Bulls in a Round 2 match at DHL Stadium—marking his entry into professional rugby. That season, he appeared in limited Currie Cup action for WP.
Weilbach's breakthrough came at the international youth level. Selected for the South Africa Under-20 squad in June 2021 ahead of the World Rugby U20 Championship (postponed and later held in 2023), he was praised as an "old-school tighthead prop" for his anchoring role in the scrum. He earned four caps for the Junior Springboks between 2022 and 2023, all in the U20 Summer Series, starting in two matches and contributing to a perfect win record (4 wins, 0 losses).
Weilbach transitioned to the senior professional ranks with the DHL Stormers in 2024, aligning with their URC and European campaigns. His URC debut came as part of the squad's return to competition in early 2025, though appearances have been measured as he builds experience behind established props like Neethling Fouche and Frans Malherbe.
