Trevor Nyakane attended Ben Vorster High School in Tzaneen, where he began to shine as a rugby player. His natural strength and agility were apparent early on, earning him a reputation as a powerful and versatile front-row player.

Nyakane represented the Limpopo Blue Bulls at various youth levels. His performances in youth tournaments showcased his potential and led to his inclusion in the Blue Bulls' academy.

Nyakane made his professional debut for the Blue Bulls in the Currie Cup. His versatility allowed him to play both loosehead and tighthead prop, making him a valuable asset to the team. His strong scrummaging and mobility around the park quickly established him as a key player.

In 2011, Nyakane joined the Free State Cheetahs, where he further honed his skills and became a regular starter in both the Currie Cup and Super Rugby. His performances with the Cheetahs earned him wider recognition and solidified his reputation as a top-class prop.

Nyakane returned to the Bulls in 2015, where he continued to excel in Super Rugby and the Currie Cup. His leadership and experience were invaluable to the team, and he became known for his work ethic and consistency.

In 2021, Nyakane signed with Racing 92 in the French Top 14, bringing his considerable experience and skill to the European stage. His adaptability and prowess in the scrum have made him a key player for the Parisian club. Nyakane made his debut for the South

African national team, the Springboks, in 2013. His versatility as both a loosehead and tighthead prop has made him an important player for the Springboks, providing depth and stability in the front row. He was part of the squad that won the 2019 Rugby World Cup, contributing to South Africa's dominant forward play. Nyakane has also played a significant role in The Rugby Championship and other international competitions.
